We would like to begin this newsletter with an apology to all our loyal readers of the homepage. This is because we have neglected the „News“ column for far too long. However, we hope for your understanding, as the first quarter of the year 2025 was very eventful. We would now like to share this with you in this newsletter:
Breeding Update
Madge & Georgi’s Puppies
We’re starting our „Breeding Update“ with the most joyful and biggest event of the first quarter of 2025: the birth of our Bloodhound puppies.
On March 8th, 2025, 11 healthy and strong puppies were born from the mating of Scott’s Secret Keeper Madge x Georgi von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin – 6 males and 5 females.
After spending their first 3.5 weeks in our puppy room inside the house, the puppies moved to the puppy house with a puppy garden on March 26th, 2025, with the start of the beautiful and warmer weather, giving them plenty of space and many impressions for their further development.

Our Next Bloodhound Litter
We are planning our next Bloodhound litter with the mating of Scott’s Bald Eagle Birdie x Georgi von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin for Spring 2026. If you are interested, please contact us in good time, as there are already pre-reservations for this litter.
As both parents in this mating have passed hunting tests, this litter will have pedigrees marked „from parents with hunting tests“.
Health Tests
Our Bloodhound bitch „Scott’s Bald Eagle Birdie“ has passed her radiographic breeding suitability examination with flying colors: HD-A / ED-0 / OCD-clear.
That same positive result applies to our Basset Hound male „Xeros vom Rusteberg,“ whom we, in addition to the HD examination, also subjected to ED and OCD examinations out of breeding interest and in light of the whole discussion about deformed forelimbs in Basset Hounds: HD-B / ED-0 / OCD-clear.

From our Bloodhound male „Georgi von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin,“ we are now offering the shipment of deep-frozen semen, with the support of REPROVET in Vienna. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
Shownews Updates
Dogshow Kassel 11/12. January 2025
Following many warnings from other exhibitors that Basset Hounds and Bloodhounds would not be permitted for exhibition in Kassel by the veterinary office, we nevertheless decided to go there. We actually experienced it differently and had absolutely no problems with our dogs. Our Basset Hound male „Xeros vom Rusteberg,“ as well as our Bloodhounds „Georgi von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin“ and „Bubbles von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin“, were all highly praised and awarded Exc. 1, BoB, and BoS/Best Veteran on both days.
Austrian Show Winner 2024
Georgi von Bertram Knoll Bloodhound-Berlin received 1st place at the „Austrian Show Winner 2024“ for his numerous exhibition successes in Austria in 2024, making him the highest-ranked Bloodhound living in Austria and thus qualifying him to participate in the FCI World Challenge 2025 in Helsinki as the Austrian representative.
